About the War Plan Orange Tour
Retrace the footsteps of the USAFFE troops during the early campaigns of WW2 in the Philippines - America’s first foray into the war. “No mama, no papa, no Uncle Sam…” soon became the battle cry as the troops — starving, sick, weak, and without reinforcements — faced the fierce onslaught of the enemy.
Delve into aspects unknown to many as we explore Bataan, Corregidor, and the route of the infamous Bataan Death March, where many of our troops perished in the most atrocious ways. At the same time, we pay homage to these amazing defenders, the Battlin’ Bastards of Bataan, who held out for 4 long months against overwhelming odds.
The Capas National Shrine features a massive obelisk, surrounded by black marble walls engraved with the names of soldiers incarcerated at the concentration camp that once stood there.
