About the Tour


Aces of the Pacific: Winning the War Over Philippine Skies pays tribute to the airmen and crew who carried out missions against overwhelming odds to bring about victory in the Pacific. As we tour, you will engage with top aviation and local historians, visit important airfields and sites where history was made, and experience local culture like no other.

Our specially curated itinerary was crafted to give most valuable insight to our guests and bring inspiration as we pay homage to the gallantry and heroism of these extraordinary men. It will also allow for deep reflection as we visit important sites, poignant reminders of the sacrifice and tragedies that WW2 brought.

Tour Historians

Tony Feredo is among the top experts in Philippine Military History, especially on artillery, aviation, and fortifications. He is a member of the Coast Defense Study Group, a member of the Pacific Air War History Associates, and an Advisory Board member for the Philippine World War II Memorial Foundation.

Maj. Richard Bong and his wife Marge, who he named his Lockheed P-38 Lightning after.

Justin Taylan is the founder of Pacific Wrecks, and a longtime friend of the the Philippine World War II Memorial Foundation. He is an advocate for the legacy of veterans and lost servicemen, and the preservation of relics and remnants from wars fought in the Pacific.

Tour Manager

Des Benipayo is the founder of the Philippine World War II Memorial Foundation, and has been leading WWII tours in the Philippines with her extensive local and historical knowledge. She acts as Tour Manager for this trip, ensuring a smooth and comfortable trip for all PhilWar Tours guests.
